At the moment, we are involved in the development of very small, robust GPS trackers with mobile communications and LPWAN. A compact GPS antenna can be spotted in the picture. A 2 cent coin serves as a size reference.
The trackers are intended to be primarily used for the monitoring of equipment and facilities in the field: machines, vehicles, containers, dumpsters. Two characteristics are important for these applications:
- Long battery life
- A very robust housing
We aim to provide GSM trackers with a battery life of 12 months. To this purpose, the trackers are trimmed to extremely low energy consumption. A robust (and secure!) housing is necessary for all outdoor applications. Thereby, the tracker must not be simple to manipulate, manipulation attempts should be immediately recognized and notified.
Data transfer and handling
The data from the trackers (position, acceleration values, temperatures, battery levels) are automatically transfered to our cloud platform and stored there. Appropriate alarms can be configured in our portal. These will inform, for example, when the trackers have moved out of a configured range.
Current development status & Market launch
We are in the middle of the development project. The first near-production prototypes will become available in the next few weeks. The production will start at the beginning of Q3/2019.
