The FAKRA-Z transfer point allows you to relocate one antenna socket of the Smart Meter Gateway (SMGW) from the sealed area into the customer accessible area. This makes it easier to install antennas in or at the cabinet. In addition, antennas can be added or replaced later without the need for re-sealing, which significantly reduces the cost of reworking. If the FAKRA-Z transfer point is used for the LMN-A connection of the gateway, this can considerably simplify the subsequent installation of an LMN antenna for wireless M-Bus.
